FOUR YEAR PLAYER PAGE OF FAME
The following players represented the La Quinta Rugby Club their Freshman through their Senior Year.
N. Grotsky (a.k.a. t-rex or grossy)
Grotsky was one of the original players to start the program and was the only Freshman.  Impressively, he started every year for the club.  He started playing lock and moved to loose forward.  Known for his high energy play that allowed him to raise havoc on opponents.  The "quick tap" off a penalty was  number one in his play book.  Oh yeah, he passed once in a while when he could free up his arms (t-rex)

A. Pircea
Pircea always had the size to be a great rugby player but it took him until his senior year to be able to dominate an entire game.  He dedicated himself to fitness his senior year and crushed all in his way. Famous for his runs off a penalty (no charge for the ride).

J. Wellman
Wellman was known from day one as a player with tremendous concentration and was "unrattleable" by opposing teammates. He came in at the scrum half position his Freshman year for an injured player and took the position to a new level his first year. Wellman was a  solid player with tremendous fundamentals and knowledge of the game.  Wellman "quietly" made those around him so much better.

R. Matsunaga
Rota was a major impact player for the program.  In any given game the opposing team had to keep a watchful eye on #1.  Rota had the whole package for a prop: scrumming, running in support and ....oh yeah he could ruck pretty well too!
E. Cullen  (a.k.a. "Stretch")
"Stretch" as he was called by coaches and teammates had the heart of a lion that always played a couple sizes larger than he was.  He came in as a Freshman starting at the fullback position and could have easily earned the nickname "clutch" for his focused eye on every ball in the back field.  He became the backs play caller at the fly half position his senior year and as usually was always cool under pressure.

T. Spillman (a.k.a. "Lipper")
Lipper was a player who started out with little talent but a lot of heart.  After four years of dedicating himself to the game physically and mentally, Lipper left the program as not only one of our more knowledgeable players, but used his  role on the field to encourage others to play at his level as a two year captain.  Spillman single handedly solidified our program in a time when there was doubt.

C. Rodriguez (a.k.a. "Jaws")
"Jaws" as he was called by coaches and teammates after breaking his jaw in a touch game loved the game of rugby and played with total aggression.  He was always one of the fittest players on the field and never took a break while representing La Quinta.  With name like "Jaws" you knew he was always going to bring it!
